Arturah's Reflection on the Group 4 Project
Working in this Group 4 project was difficult yet helpful on some levels. The fact that your grade is relying on the work ethic of the people in your group was something I often worried about. The group I was placed in had a two of my peers who I thought would have a horrible work ethic when it came to this project. I thought I would be hearing excuses right and left about why they could not complete their part of the project, to be honest my feelings towards their work ethic were so strong, that my other peers and I decided to make a back up plan to research the others topics and become familiar just incase the two did not show for the presentation or did no work for the entire project. To my surprise one of the two peers I mentioned showed up to every meeting, always had her part of the project completed, I was very proud of her and I let her know that I appreciated her upholding her part. On the other hand, the other peer I mentioned had missed three days of school and that of course worried the rest of us, she had missed meetings, dead lines, and she had not e-mailed any of us to inform us that she was not going to be there. When she finally showed up, she did have all of her research done, and she showed knowledge and understanding of what she had researched. The helpful part of working in a group is the work distribution, if I was told to do this whole project by myself I would be overwhelmed with the work load. It was very helpful having to only concentrate on my part of the project, which was the Environment, and not worry about concentrating on medical issues, or the physics of our topic. To be honest, my group worked well together, of course working in a group is difficult and of course we had our disagreements every now and then, but if ever given the chance, I would not ask for another group.
