Ureshantie's Reflection on the Group 4 Project
Working in this Group 4 project for IB wasn’t all that bad. Everyone in the group had there ups and downs and of course there was always the person that everyone worries about in which every group has. The Group 4 was a nice first experience into getting to know what IB wants and I think our group didn’t do a bad job in pulling it off.
Though there were people in the group that I wouldn’t choose to work with, I made sure that I put all my troubles aside and focus on what we had to do as individuals and as a group in order to accomplish our goal of successfully presenting the topic of Genetic Engineering. I do have to admit that there wasn’t much of a problem with me and other group members. I am the type that works well with others and I didn’t find it hard to put my problems aside and cooperate with everyone. There were moments where each of us as a group laughed and joked around together about our topic, so when the teacher asked if we were on topic, we didn’t have to lie at all or get in trouble.
My advice on the Group Four project would be to make sure that everyone’s timing is perfect and that they are spaced out efficiently based on the information that each person has to present. Make sure no one in the group exceeds their time because it could hurt the group and the rest of the people in the group would have to make up for the lost time by rushing their presentations. Make sure that everyone knows what they are saying and that the information flows smoothly from one person to another. Try to run through all the bad things that could occur during the presentation in order to be more prepared during the presentation. Also, practice the presentation as much as possible to decrease nervousness and other problems.
Overall, I am thankful I had a group to present the topic of Genetic engineering because it helped calm my nervousness a little knowing that we went out as a group.
